Claire Kopko is a doctor of physical therapy with licenses in Ohio, California, Utah, Georgia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests are vast, including orthopedics, sports medicine, pediatrics, and health and wellness.
Dr. Kopko obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in neuroscience from Denison University in 2008. During her undergraduate career, she was a four-year starter for the Big Red softball team and a National Strength & Conditioning Coaches’ Association All-American athlete. She spent two years as an assistant coach and creating a strength and conditioning program for the softball team at Division III Washington & Jefferson College.
Dr. Kopko earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Chatham University in 2012. She completed her orthopedic clinical residency through Movement for Life and the University of Southern California, culminating in her obtaining the designation of Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2015.
Dr. Kopko has clinical experience in a variety of settings, as she began her career in a private outpatient clinic with a large population of geriatric patients and currently works with special needs children in both school and teletherapy settings. She has also spent the past four years as the physical therapist in the Center for Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction at a large children’s hospital in Columbus, OH. During this time, she devised rehabilitation protocols for children and adults undergoing correction of limb deformities and provided education to her colleagues as to how to treat this specific population.
Dr. Kopko’s personal belief that movement is a gift is what drove her to the field of physical therapy, and it is what continues to guide her when treating patients. She is eager to share her knowledge and instill the same passion for health and activity in her patients.
Dr. Kopko’s personal fitness interests include hiking, strength training, swimming, and yoga. Her husband, Nick Showman, is the owner of Showtime Strength and Performance. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, reading, finding new music, and traveling.
I have the opportunity to work with Claire from two different points of view.
I worked closely with her as a pediatric chronic pain physician, and I was always amazed by her intrinsic knowledge of the body and its mechanics. If I ever had a difficult case, Claire was my go-to person. She is by far the best PT I have worked with, and when I injured my back, of course I went to the best to help me! In three sessions, she made not only my pain disappear but gave me tips I still use in my daily activities. I highly recommend her as both a physician and a patient.

“Claire was my therapist for torn ligaments in my ankle and gave thorough exercises for me to follow. She had timely check-ins with me and readjusted my treatment based on my progress. I would highly recommend her!”

I had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Claire Kopko. I reached out to her for back pain after a pregnancy, and then again a year later for knee pain. After listening to my concerns, she provided me with an extremely prompt, individualized program of quick, yet worthwhile, therapeutic exercises that got me back to feeling stronger within a couple weeks. We also met virtually so she could pinpoint my issue, followed with detailed explanations of her recommended exercises. I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you, Claire!
